Description: The old gunmakers of Bedford County PA scratch-built the locks for the guns they made, and this is a typical copy. They all followed this general pattern which produced a lock totally unlike other gun locks made in this country. Note the "tiger stripe" in that stock. Working curly maple is sorta like panning for gold, you never know when you start whittling how much "figure" you will have when you get finished. I am more than happy with this stick of wood.
