Photo From: TJ Parmele - Album: Handguns--Classic or Antique

Description: Colt M1849 revolver. What sets this .31 caliber percussion piece apart from all others is the small retailer marking stamped on the barrel - Charles Kittredge of St. Louis, MO. So far this is the only example of this marking found on a Colt. Kittredge's shop was once located about where the Gateway Arch now stands in St. Louis. The VA Gun Collector Association (VGCA) donated this c.1860 Colt to the NRA's National Firearm's Museumm collection, a historic piece that will be featured on display in the future at both our Fairfax, VA and Springfield, MO galleries.
