Description: Tanfoglio Witness-P 1911.  This pistol features steel inserts at the feed ramp area and at the rear for the hammer/sear/safety lock assembly.  These inserts also provide rails which the slide rides upon.  The frame is otherwise polymer, including the "stock panels," which look to be removable but are not.  While this pistol looks like it might be uncomfortable to shoot due to reduced weight, it isn't.  Lightened .45s are nothing new, and while the recoil impulse is somewhat greater, it is in no way uncomfortable or difficult to manage.  This pistol shoots very well, and is nicely accurate.  Since I bought mine, when this basic model was the only option, Tanfoglio has, at last glance, begun offering a good number of 1911s in both polymer and steel frame versions.  And Tandfoglio is no longer imported by EAA, but has joined forces with four other Italian Manufacturers and formed the Italian firearms Group to import their own products into the USA.
