Description: This is a copy of a Flintlock Blunderbuss as used by the British Navy about 1750. The gun was built following a picture in a book, the length of the barrel was given in the book so it was possable to scale the entire gun from that. The lock was purchased from Navy Arms, the rest of the gun was entirely scratch-built. The barrel is 18" long and is just over one inch in bore size. The finished gun weighs 12.5 pounds, and fires either 3 1/2 oz of buckshot or a 1" round ball which weighs 1300 grains. the shot pattern covers about 16 inches at 16 feet! The recoil is best discribed as brutal Uploaded: 10/1/2000 by JimWolford
