SAC Smith & Wesson

Photo From: Mark Freburg - Album: Handguns--Classic or Antique

Description: Pictured is a Smith & Wesson Model 15 with "stag" stocks like the revolvers used by the SAC Elite Guard at Offut AFB's underground SAC HQ in the 60s-70s.  To the best of my knowledge the SAC Elite Guard was the only outfit to use the stag handles.  The only other Air Force Elite Guard in existence was the NORAD Elite Guard, formed while I was part of that unit, and our Model 15 revolvers wore Pachmayr Presentation Grips, far more practical.
