Description: Though this image is in Handguns--Modern, the 5904 is now only three years away from being considered a classic, as it was discontinued by S&W in 1998.  The all-stainless 5906 was the workhorse of this series in law enforcement although it too was discontinued in 1999.  the stainless slide/anodized frame 5903 also saw considerable law enforcement issue, due no doubt to its lighter weight.  And in this series, the weight savings simply must be felt to be appreciated.  The 590x series is a very concealable pistol for anyone not raised to require the tiniest mouse gun made in order to be happy.
