Description: Smith & Wesson Models 3914 and 3904, both single-stack 9mms with aluminum frames. While these are considered obsolescent by the striker-fired/polymer-frame users of today, in my opinion these pistols have not lost any of their usefulness. I actually carry 1911s, but my strong second choice would be a traditional double action, and specifically a Smith & Wesson third generation automatic, which I personally feel were the best of the bunch.
