Description: This Model 60 Chief's Special in .38 Special dates from prior to 1971 at least. (The previous owner bought it then.) It has had the hammer bobbed to prevent snagging, the chambers chamfered for faster reloading, the cylinder release replaced with a later teardrop style for speed-loader clearance and the action smoothed, although the springs remain at full strength for reliability.

We all own variations on this theme, though this one is nicer than most. The general type remains, perhaps, the best selling revolver today. Yet if honestly considered, this is one of the most impractical handguns in the defensive world of 2018-2019. WHY do we continue to cling to them?
