Fort Frederick State Park, located in Big Pool, Washington County, will host a two-day muzzleloader match on Sat., Nov. 11, and Sun., Nov. 12. The range will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Prizes will be awarded on Sunday upon completion of the match. The match is open to all percussion and flintlock muzzleloaders, and the ammunition is round ball only. No in-lines may compete, although they are welcome to shoot. Paper targets will be available. Registration for the shoot is $2 and the individual match fee is $1. Re-entries are permitted. Junior and ladies matches are available as well as pistol competition if there is enough interest. Participants age 13-16 years old must be accompanies by an adult. Free camping will be available in the open field across from the range, but there are no hook-ups or electricity available. Those planning to camp must arrive at the park no later than 6:30 p.m. on Friday when the park gates close. Fort Frederick State Park is located 18 miles west of Hagerstown, off I-70 at Exit 12.
