Women On Target The National Rifle Association^s Women on Target shooting program has scheduled 14 recreational charity shoots for this year. "Women on Target is pleased and excited to sponsor another year of recreational charity shoots," says Stephanie Henson, manager of the NRA^s Women^s Programs Department. "These events fulfill our two-fold purpose of giving women a safe, enjoyable shooting experience and raising money for a variety of good causes." Last year, almost $16,000 was raised for such causes as breast cancer research, medical care for children and the Special Olympics, according to Henson. The two-day shoots are open to women of all ages and skill levels. Most of the events are sporting clays, but a few are handgun shoots. The first day is for women only, while the second day is set aside as a couples fun shoot. In addition to the charity shoots, Women on Target is planning several women-only instructional events and a series of hunts for deer, pheasants, wild turkeys and other game.
