S&W shooting rep Jerry Miculek recently set new speed shooting records at the Police Nationals handgun competition in Jackson, MS.  Using a Model 66 K-frame and ten identical Model 64s in .38 caliber he set multiple records for speed and accuracy.  Miculek's rapid trigger finger managed to empty ten fully loaded revovlers into a target in 17.12 seconds !   How many of us can empty even one accurately in that time limit ?

While Mr. Miculek takes great pleasure in setting records for handgun speed shooting he also takes practicing for these record attempts seriously. Its reported he fired over 18,000 rounds in preparing for the recent record attempts.

"Some speed shooting records on the books are quite old," explained Miculek. "Time keepers of 20, 30 and 40 years ago used fairly inaccurate stop watches compared to today's technology. I looked at these two widely different categories and decided to go for new records using extremely accurate timers."
