EXETER, NH - SIGARMS® Inc. has begun production of the new Granite Series pistols with their first model the Granite Series - Rail, or GSR. Named for the Granite State of New Hampshire where the company is headquartered, the newest SIGARMS handgun is a 1911 design of uncompromising quality that will capture the attention of the most discerning shooters and law enforcement officials.

Development of the new SIGARMS GSR began in April under the expert guidance of a team of top engineers and renowned gunsmith and World Champion IPSC shooter Matt McLearn. From the beginning designers focused on building into the handgun the famous attributes of accuracy, precision and reliability that are synonymous with SIGARMS.

The new SIGARMS GSR is built from stainless steel with the frame and slide machined to exacting tolerances and then hand-fitted and hand-lapped to insure a silky-smooth action. To ensure the famed out-of-the-box performance of a SIGARMS pistol, the GSR contains only premium internal parts from the best names in the 1911 industry.

The slide sports Novak® rear sights and dovetailed front, Wilson Combat® external extractor and top-of-the-line machined firing pin, firing pin stop and ejector. A five-inch match-grade barrel provides for the outstanding accuracy expected from SIGARMS.

The GSR also features a match-grade hammer/sear set, which, when combined with the match-grade aluminum trigger guarantees a crisp single-action trigger pull. Springs are from Wolff.

For safety the GSR features a beavertail grip safety with speed bump, an extended thumb safety, a firing pin safety and hammer intercept notch. It's 20-line per inch grooves on the front strap and mainspring housing help maximize user control.

The frame and slide are de-horned eliminating sharp edges for carry purposes. A Picatinny rail integral to the dust cover accepts all tactical lighting systems designed for that system, making the firearm perfect for law enforcement use.

The GSR is provided with two of Novak's 8-round magazines with integral bumper pads. The stainless model carries wood grips while the black Nitron® wear-resistant finished model utilizes Ergo Grip(tm) XT extreme use grips. The GSR weighs in at 39.2 ounces, with an overall length of 8.65 inches and a height of 5.5 inches. For more information visit SIGARMS web site
