The .300 Savage is (slightly) less powerful than the .308.  Does your buddy want the .300 Savage chambering for nostalgia reasons?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: My buddy have one in .308 Winchester. He's been trying to buy one in .300 Savage but either can't find them or he won't pay the prive.
