I have never heard of this brand but it looks very interesting. They seem to offer a good variety of products for various uses. I will check them out more thoroughly.
My only concern is the rechargeable batteries. I have not had great luck with them, either. I also think about power outages where there would be no means to recharge them. I could see having one that was handy when needed and would be backed up by a battery powered flashlight stored without batteries and with batteries stored nearby. How did you find these? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Bob, I had one battery leak that ruined the finish on a one inch spot of my desk. If I remember correctly it was an off brand 123A Lithium. I switched to Surefire 123A batteries and have had no problem with them leaking. I have pretty much given up on the 123A Lithium batteries in favor of 3.6 Lithium-Ion batteries for High Drain Devices. My Olight flashlights all have a rear magnetic battery charger and the batteries are charged in the flashlight. I have two mounted on a L bracket that holds the light with the rear magnet. The magnetic charger mounts on the opposite side of the L bracket. The Batteries have a built in circuit board that prevents the charger from Over Charging, Over Discharging and Over Discharging Currant. So what ever flashlight I have on the chargers are always ready to go at full charge. The magnetic chargers use a USB cable so you can charge from any computer or wall socket. My office light is mounted on an L bracket and I can reach it from my desk chair. It is an Olight Seeker 2 that has a body mounted switch, but no tail switch. This is my utility light and the one I use out side. Olight Seeker 2 This light has 5 level settings. The ratings in lumens are: 3000, 1200, 300, 50, 5. There is also a default level of 600 lumens that comes on after the 3000 level has been on for Three minutes. I seldom use the 3000 level but it is there if you have intruders that you want to disorient. The Seeker 2 also has on the off/on switch 8 indicator lights. Four tell you the level of light you have on. Four tell you how much charge you have left in the battery. It uses a 3.6V 21700 rechargeable battery with 5000mAh capacity. The Seeker 2 is 5" long and the body is 1 1/8" in Diameter. The head Diameter is 1 3/16". Because the magnetic charger mounts at the rear of the body, the battery is inserted with the positive end facing the back of the body instead of the head. You can see an Olight Seeker 2 Light Here. The second light I use is a true tactical light that I keep in my bedroom for use with my bed side pistol. Olight Warrior X Pro This is a great home protection or carry flashlight for self protection. The light is heavy duty built for a fight. The front of the light is built with five protrusions that are semi sharp. The flashlight is 5 1/2" long, the body is 1" diameter, the head is 1 1/2" diameter. It has a Tail switch with two levels available. The light projection is built for tactical work. There is a very bright center projection that is about 2' in diameter at 20 feet. There is also a secondary light projection that is not as intense like the center. Its projection at 20 feet is about 20' in diameter. This gives an excellent flashlight for clearing a home. The outer light gives you a great light for your peripheral vision and the center light will disorient/blind your intruder. The light has a 2100, 1000 and 300 lumen output and uses a rechargeable 21700 lithium battery with 3.6V and 5000mAh. It also has the magnetic charger setup at the rear of the body. I have it mounted on a L bracket and is mounted on my bed headboard. All Olight flashlights are water resistant and sealed with "O" rings. The body are all heavy duty aluminum and the machining is unbelievably good. Made in China and the batteries are expensive. The batteries last a long time and have a circuit board protection unit built in. You can see the Warrior X Pro here. Frank |
