I also like battery flexibility you mention. In my case I use CR123 for the small lights because they put out high light for their size and some rather tradtional large (think the old-fashioned Maglight-Streamlight style cops carried decades back) which use D-cells. Those lights in modern guise are quite bright and I have the advantage of having been trained to use them tactically, out-dated as they may be. 
ETA: I'mcurrently carrying an LAPG brand (second one) that has a tail cap which I prefer and which puts out loads of lumens.... |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have a couple from Streamlight and Surefire. They use the CR batteries. I also have a few others that use regular batteries. I like to have both types so I can be battery flexible. Do you have any suggestions or preferences? |
