For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I just don't want something with a stock that has been bubba'd by a "local woodworker" I didn't notice any obvious stock damage, but then I didn't look that carefully. I restocked some M1s back in the day, using aftermarket stocks (probably Boyd's), and they did need some minor fitting. Some were available with an oil finish, and some plain finish. I did use BLO to finish mine, and did little sanding on the exterior of the stocks. Harvey |
