The restored aspect isn't doing much for me, though it seems to thrill others.
The best part of a restored M1 like this one is that a new barrel (Criterion, IIRC) has been installed. There are a lot of surplus M1s out there with considerable barrel erosion and wear that won't make a serious shooter smile. The upgraded furniture is a bonus to some, and unimportant to others who want to shoot their M1s with some frequency. Someone who wants a cherry original M1 and is willing to pay the required bucks for it is likely a collector rather than a shooter. Harvey |
