I also ended up with a noise-reduction headset, but as an older shooter. My need was enhanced by problems with hearing the start whistle while on the line in PPC. Before buying it, I had to draw after I saw the shooters around me draw, rather than actually hearing the whistle! ![]() Deef Stu |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think, but don't know, that today's military is much more concerned with protecting the ears of its troops. Does anyone here really know what current policies are in this regard? The Marines used earplugs for a long time, and a few years ago started using noise reduction headsets (HED) that would allow communication for grunts in combat situations. They now are widely issuing suppressors for use in combat on rifles. I don't know about the other services. Harvey |
