For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Our home base was Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, TX. It was the ONLY isolated tour of duty in the continental US and locked down tighter than a drum head. Anybody caught sniffing around was NOT treated with kid gloves and, if on the flight line without the proper badge, you could get shot! I remember when Gary Powers got shot down the Security Police and Combat Defense Force people went about half crazy! |
