That's a strange reply from the seller... I never heard of Bo-Mar sights coming from the factory as that rear sight required a custom cut, which also tells you that the gun is not stock. I don't believe the front sight was stock, either, as the back of it has been relieved in tiny stair steps to cut glare. And, while Colt sometimes installed a paddle-styled, drop-in semi beavertail grip safety I don't think they ever did a full beavertail like this gun has. You'd think a dealer/shop owner would know all this??? While Colt might have included a three-hole aluminum trigger on some guns (although I've never seen an example of that) I'd bet the same gunsmith Stu mentioned fitted this trigger when he did all the rest of the work, probably including a trigger job. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Further to my last message, I did receive a reply from the seller in answer to my question about the pistol being stock or customized -- "As far as I know it is stock. I don't believe the grips are stock and unknown if the bo-mar sight came from the factory. The owner did not have any work done to it and it was given to him in this condition." I'm guessing "the owner" is the consignor who posted the Colt for sale. Harvey |
