| They apparently dropped the chromed barrels some time ago as neither mine nor my son's is chromed either. I got that earlier photo off the web. They may not have chromed any barrels shipped here. My thinking is that the chromed barrels were considered unnecessary for guns to be imported to the USA. We don't chrome-lined barrels here because we use non-corrosive ammunition exclusively in our handguns, and don't use steel jackets, so there is no reason to chrome line our barrels. While there might not be any hard and fast evidence, I believe a standard barrel will be more accurate than a chromed barrel as well. Bottom line, for me, a chromed barrel is not a loss. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I just bought the Canik and have not been to the range as of yet. I will keep you posted guys. The one pictured here of the C100 is the same as mine however they are not being offered with the chrome barrel anymore. I wonder why this is the case? |
