I'm surprised I never heard of the premix fuel before now!
I started using it in my Stihl chainsaw in Montana after a friend who cut and sold firewood told me about it. The extra-crappy gas we had in Helena degraded from premium octane to regular octane in about three weeks right in your tank or gas can and the regular out of the pump degraded in two or three months to something that wouldn't run a small engine until a mechanic removed all of it and replaced it. Even though it was twice the price of pump gas I stopped having fuel problems as soon as I started using it. Stihl must start with excellent gasoline before adding their own stabilizer and their own best oil at exactly the right mix. Prior to this, the only premix I'd heard of was sold at marina gas stations out on the water back when all outboard motors were 2-cycle. |
