I didn't read the article, but Rich Grassi (see column link posted here today) says that airman has been charged with manslaughter.
This reminds me of when I was a young airman back in the 1970s and our squadron being shown a "training' film showing two SPs horsing around with their holstered revolvers, playing quick draw--and one accidentally pulls the trigger and kills his buddy dead. I guess they thought our generation was too close to the days of the 1950s and having grown up watching Have Gun Will Travel and Gunsmoke and Wanted Dead or Alive, etc.--and having those sorts of shows somewhat ingrained in our conscientious. |
