Mike and Chuck have been talking about their AR-15 rifles, and I figured I'd better jump into the Tactical Rifle Clique.

I've been building an AR-15 rifle for a while, really only because they are "cheap" again and eventually I will get issued one at work. Like my shotgun and handgun, I always have a duplicate at home - a weird quirk of mine.

Anyway, I decided to build mine. Like Chuck, I am learning more about AR rifles and having some fun. I have plenty of Army experience with a M-16 "shorty" (the precursor of the M4), but I just shot and cleaned mine. By piecing together a new gun, I figured I could have fun, learn something, and maybe save a few dollars while personalizing my rifle.

I started with a FN A3 upper and a RRA (complete) lower, since I am not as adventurous as Mike and Chuck. I added parts and accessories. It is still a work in progress, and I am tinkering with the guts since I have run out of money and smoked the credit cards!
