| The old BAR was certainly a wonderful design, but some things should be updated. One of the things that I noted was that the shooter needed to move his/her hand out of shooting position in order to release the safety. They do have an update planned, but that still requires removing your hand from shooting position. There are more up to date designs out there that will perform just as well as the BAR and are also a bit more ergonomic. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I just discovered this today, and thought I would share it. I'm not sure if anyone else is familiar with it, but aside from the terrible "baby poop" brown that its in, I think it is rather awesome. I'd still rather have one of their 1918A3 rifles for awesome factor, but the HCAR makes a lot of sense if it were marketed as a modern DMR. Here is a nice review article with details, pictures, and a short video. Coverage from Shot Show 2014 suggest an MSRP around $3600. Pricey, but what isn't these days.
