Hi Bob, Generators can run Refrigerators, Freezers, Stoves, Well pumps, heaters and Air Conditioner besides cell phones and flash lights.  Frank

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Heck, no! I would have the whole neighborhood over to charge their cellphones. Generators only work out in the boondocks where no one can see you have lights on.
