So far... mine seem to be 1911 centric: The Colt 1911 Black Army that was revealed to have been re-blued. It was a decent job at that. It was a late WWI production, ca. 1918 IIRC. Image below from TJ Parmele - Image Title: Colt Model 1911 Uploaded: undefined ![]() Then there was the Argentinian 1927 Sistema. This was a very well worn pistol by the time I got it. The frame had some peening due to a very very worn out recoil spring. This was my first "1911" and I regret selling it off just because it was my first. Sadly, I don't have a picture of that. Norwegian copy of the 1911. Yeah, this was a re-blue as well, but it was also a hell of a gun and it was very well done. It was so odd, and clean. EVERY part of it matched. No force matching either. ![]() Now, breaking out of 1911s for a moment. I DO regret selling my Molot VEPR Semi-Auto rifle chambered in 7.62X54R. It was neat, it fired decently, but I couldn't get over the mental hangup of having more than a reliable 5 round magazine. With that cartridge taper, it wouldn't feed reliably from the 10 round magazine that could only fit 9 rounds. That's the main reason I got rid of it if memory serves me. Image below from TJ Parmele - Image Title: 7.62X54R VEPR Uploaded: undefined ![]() This was such a goofy gun in the time of goofy guns. This gun is singlehandedly responsible for keeping S&W in revolvers until the Model 59. Simply one of the goofiest guns I have ever owned. Image Info: I recently purchased this S&W 1913 and here is the left handed side of the gun. ![]() I probably have more and I'll think about them in the back of my mind. I think Alan had a good idea of NOT participating, but this is a good thread topic so I've got mixed feelings writing this. |
