Then too, the cynic in me tends to think that these ammo companies cranking out all these new cartridges are simply in it for the sales revenue.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I hear you. Hornady, especially, has been introducing new cartridges as if all the old ones disappeared years ago.  And if you look at online gun magazines, blogs, and other forums, people seem to be gobbling them up. I really have no interest in most new cartridges, but have the feeling that many newer shooters are simply unaware of the huge variety of older cartridges and everything you can do with them. Then too, the cynic in me tends to think that these ammo companies cranking out all these new cartridges are simply in it for the sales revenue.
