I would look for a cam lever mount from GG&G. Then you could mount the EOTech to the rear with quick detach and return to zero. I would like one for my AR, but it isn't really necessary due to the high iron sights being aligned with the holosight. On your M1A, it would be neat to have a QD holosight so you could pull it off for the iron sights - I think the EOTech would block the iron sights when attached.
Notice how the cam lever mount adds no height! Way cool design. |
