For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Mark, I have mentioned that my local gun shop sells its guns for 10% over its cost. Well, competition is a wonderful thing and keeps everyone honest in the long run. In checking with the new local Academy Sports & Outdoors chain store, I found that it was selling a new G23 for a full $100 less than my gun shop and the XD-40 for $20 less than the G23. I don't know what the gun shop's price is for the XD-40, but apparently Academy can get a volume discount and passes some of it on to its customers. God bless the free enterprize system! -Sam |
