>>What happened to you acquiring the S&W 3913 you were salivating over? Did you get it afterall?<< I took a pass on it for right now. There are some other possibilities and I don't want to just go out and buy the first gun that looks reasonably good. The truth is that I'm pretty comfortable carrying the Ruger SP101 in .357.. I'm not in a big rush to get something else, just mildly interested in exploring what else is out there. >>Not only did I correctly state your ownership status vis-a-vis Glocks, but I also stated that you are a rifle man<< That is a true statement. I'm much more interested in rifles than I am in handguns, but I don't want to be totally unaware of what is going on in the world of handguns. >>(although it does raise the question of why you bothered to get a Virginia concealed carry license?). << Revolvers sufficed for defensive purposes for quite a few decades. While technology has offered us additional options, I'm still pretty comfortable carrying a revolver. I will need to find something that the bride is comfortable carrying, but I don't think she's quite ready to get serious about it yet.. Hopefully soon... At this point she's leaning toward a revolver. She doesn't like having to rack the slide on the semi-autos that she's tried. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The closest I am to owning a modern defensive semi-auto handgun is the H&K P7. Dale, What happened to you acquiring the S&W 3913 you were salivating over? Did you get it afterall? Not only did I correctly state your ownership status vis-a-vis Glocks, but I also stated that you are a rifle man...such that your lack of a semi-auto pistol is understandable (although it does raise the question of why you bothered to get a Virginia concealed carry license?). Still you're ahead of me. I got my Texas CHL last September, but didn't bother to buy a pistol until March (after I had the cataract removed from my right eye). -Sam |
