I will need to find something that the bride is comfortable carrying, but I don't think she's quite ready to get serious about it yet.. Hopefully soon... At this point she's leaning toward a revolver. She doesn't like having to rack the slide on the semi-autos that she's tried. Dale, Has she tried the Kahr P9? Every woman I've shown mine to loves it and wants one. And if its good enough for Bob Rowe's wife, who are we to denigrate it? The only down side is it's around $500 with tax (and the flush mag only holds 7 rounds, but that's still more than most revolvers). There ought to be a few of them on the resale market. Besides, like Ruger, Kahr is another American company! -Sam |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: >>What happened to you acquiring the S&W 3913 you were salivating over? Did you get it afterall?<< I took a pass on it for right now. There are some other possibilities and I don't want to just go out and buy the first gun that looks reasonably good. The truth is that I'm pretty comfortable carrying the Ruger SP101 in .357.. I'm not in a big rush to get something else, just mildly interested in exploring what else is out there. >>Not only did I correctly state your ownership status vis-a-vis Glocks, but I also stated that you are a rifle man<< That is a true statement. I'm much more interested in rifles than I am in handguns, but I don't want to be totally unaware of what is going on in the world of handguns. >>(although it does raise the question of why you bothered to get a Virginia concealed carry license?). << Revolvers sufficed for defensive purposes for quite a few decades. While technology has offered us additional options, I'm still pretty comfortable carrying a revolver.
