I'm inclined to go with the G23. But the urge to buy anything hasn't become irresistable yet.

Maybe. But an extra $500 comes along somewhat more often than an extra $1,000...at least for me. When I went by the local gun shop for their counter quote to Academy's quote on the G23, I spoke with a local policeman. He was issued a Glock 22 by the City, but carried a G23 inside his shirt as a backup. Naturally, he spoke highly about the G23 and its dependability when his life was on the line.
