Hi TJ, Don't let these guys get to you. If you want to gussie up an old gun, go to it. You should go through the gun and replace the worn parts. I have tore up a bunch of old military Mausers relieving the barrel with a hacksaw to get an action. A collector hates that but it is common practice for custom gunsmiths. I would not do it to a real collectors piece but in some cases it is done. Frank |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Normally I'd agree with you on the modern collectors. If this had a spot of original finish left, I wouldn't touch it. However, since it has none, but still functions well, why not try something a little offbeat?
