I just wanted to say again that these pistols were in fact offered to us military personnel and were snatched up rather quickly.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I tend to think that it is true, because Eric's oldest CZ 75 has no import marks on it anywhere, just European proof marks.  The guys at the store said they believed the seller who traded it in did in fact pick it up at an American PX in Germany a few decades back.  I don't know how to verify it, but it seems a reasonable explanation.
