I'm not sure the novelty would wear off! You have been a fan of .257"-.264" rifles as long as I can remember and have never been satisfied with just one. You bought a .260 Remington not long after the cartridge appeared and still have it. I know you love the .257 Roberts. The 25-06 isn't a stranger. Having a .257 in an AR format would be just different enough to keep you interested for some goodly amount of time, I strongly suspect. Let's face it, the only real thing wrong with the .25-45 Sharps cartridge is the silly name! ![]() |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm sure that you are correct that many are purchasing either complete rifles or complete uppers rather than swapping out barrels. At present I really don't have an AR that I'm willing to swap the barrel on so if I wanted to try out one of these chamberings I'd probably either buy a complete upper or have one of the many semi-custom builders (many of whom show up at gun shows) assemble a complete upper to my specifications. You may have seen my previous message where I stated that I'd come close to ordering a complete upper in .25-45. The hangup was when I asked myself what I'd do with it once the novelty wore off... |
