On my two trips to Montana the guides expressed their "distaste" for whitetails. They said a mule deer will run 50-60 yards then stop and look around, a whitetail, when spooked, stops running somewhere in the next county!
I saw some huge whitetails but they were on an express run to somewhere so I never got a shot. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Also, does are better tasting. At least in my opinion. In my opinion, too! I also think that whitetails taste better than mule deer and was surprised to see them treated like vermin in Montana. It was all about the muleys there right on up to having a more generous limit on whitetails. They treated whitetails practically the way bass and walleye fishermen treat carp. |
