No, not yet. I was sick when I got it and haven't truly been well since, so I've only been with it and dry-firing it.
It has a reasonably short trigger, which should be good for smaller hands or shorter fingers. I haven't measured or compared really, but it seems the trigger reach is comparable to a 1911. I can measure if you'd like. Of course with the polymer frame there is no changing to "slim grips" like one can with a 1911. The trigger isn't as good as a tuned 1911 but it's not bad, and I see that as a plus because not everyone should be carrying a 1911 with their short/light triggers. The only other operational issue I'd mention is that the safety took me a little time to adjust to. It pivots on its axis, but the pin is at the front of the lever rather than at the rear of the lever. This is actually not an issue once you spend even just a brief time with it, but after 40+ years with 1911s and Hi-Powers where the pivot is at the rear of the lever, it did take me more than a moment to adjust. By the way, "Lite Rack" seems to be something specifically offered on the Ruger 380s. Ruger does claim the Security 9 racks easier than most striker-fired pistols, and it may at that. I don't own hardly any striker-fired pistols to compare it to. I do feel like the Security-9 racks about like other hammer-fired pistols, no heavier, but not necessarily lighter. If lighter-racking feature is of primary importance to you, you might investige the S&W Shield EZ Rack. It's also a single-action, and almost every feature is geared toward ease of use, and it can (and should) be had with a thumb safety. About the only thing I somewhat dislike is that it isn't as large as the Security-9, it's as small as the the larger .380s. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Have you had much trigger time with this gun? I am thinking about getting one of these for my wife to shoot. She has recently become interested and I like the Lite rack feature, full size and manual safety. Thanks. |
