I had an SP101 in 9mm but swapped it for the smaller Taurus I still have. Before the SP101, I had an even larger Speed-six 9mm. Now have just the .357 version.

I have been a fan of the Ruger revolvers for a bit as well. Especially their Single Action Vaqueros. I have two of their New Vaqueros in Stainless steel and a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible in .45 Colt / .45 ACP. They have never had issues.
I've had a couple of their SP101s, and a Ruger Redhawk. They just weren't for me, but I DO like their LCR revolvers.

I've shot a number of the P85s and P97s in the past. The P97 was a good pistol. nice and reliable. You should keep an eye out on the used market for one. I bet they can be had for a good price.
