Hi TJ, I have to second Mark's comments. Teflon is soft compared to some of the other coatings. I use to hunt with a guide friend in South East Alaska and he had his gun Teflon coated. It only took a couple of years and it looked like crap. I would try something else Frank |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Does anyone know anything about a Walter Birdsong and his Teflon finishes? I have a 1927 Model Sistema (Colt 1911A1 Clone) that has no finish left and I have heard good things about his finish. I heard about it at work of all places (I am a Navy Contractor) where his work has been used for non-lubricated finishes for submarine parts. It turns out he does some gun finishes on the side and I was wondering what anybody's experience with it was, and how much it might cost. Thanks!
