Yes, that would be, or could be, the start of an avalanche. It's a big if though at this point. I think you are the one with his ear closest to what's going on in that area; what do you think the chances are of the military changing cartridges? Will it take a new rifle, or will they soldier on with the M4 rechambered, or is a change unlikely? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The only thing going for these rounds is the sheer gazillions of Americans riding the AR bandwagon. Eventually some of them are going to get either bored or disgusted with the .223. There are definitely a number of shooters out there that have redone their ARs for a new round, but they are in the minority. One reason is the cost of the substitute standard AR ammunition, and the lack of variety in the offerings. With 5.56 now plentiful again, change is a bit of a push. Especially for the many AR owners out there who really aren't shooters, just wannabees and those who are trend followers. But if the US military changes . . . . . Harvey |
