I see the problem as being a constant three-way tug between practical, financial, and political.
But if the cartridge change for an AR15 is as truly simple as these civilian companies would have consumers believe, it would seem a true no-brainer for the military to acquire a more lethal cartridge for our boys and girls in camo, eh? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I don't really know what the thinking is with our military. They have gone through an attempt to change the riffle (SCAR) and that went no where. With budget restraints as an added alibi, the powers that be seem satisfied with the current cartridge and rifle which have been with the US military longer than any other modern rifle. They have gone through several iterations to change the handgun as well, so your guess is as good as mine as to where our military is headed in small arms. Harvey |
