True, but we seem to be seeing more factory rifles already chambered for these cartridges. I stood next to a guy and chatted with him on Friday as he waited for his paperwork to be completed--he had just purchased a new AR chambered in .300 ACC Blackout. This tells me that it isn't just guys changing out their existing .223s anymore. They want rifles from the factory in different calibers. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think that the advantage that rounds like the .300 Blackout and the .25-45 Sharps have is that the only necessary change from .223/5.56 is the barrel. In other words, it is a fairly inexpensive change for someone who already owns a standard AR. The 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel require a different bolt and different magazines in addition to the barrel change, making the transition to another chambering more expensive. |
