I don't really know what the thinking is with our military. They have gone through an attempt to change the riffle (SCAR) and that went no where. With budget restraints as an added alibi, the powers that be seem satisfied with the current cartridge and rifle which have been with the US military longer than any other modern rifle.
They have gone through several iterations to change the handgun as well, so your guess is as good as mine as to where our military is headed in small arms. Harvey |

I think you are the one with his ear closest to what's going on in that area; what do you think the chances are of the military changing cartridges? Will it take a new rifle, or will they soldier on with the M4 rechambered, or is a change unlikely? |
