The only thing going for these rounds is the sheer gazillions of Americans riding the AR bandwagon. Eventually some of them are going to get either bored or disgusted with the .223.
There are definitely a number of shooters out there that have redone their ARs for a new round, but they are in the minority. One reason is the cost of the substitute standard AR ammunition, and the lack of variety in the offerings. With 5.56 now plentiful again, change is a bit of a push. Especially for the many AR owners out there who really aren't shooters, just wannabees and those who are trend followers. But if the US military changes . . . . . Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree. If the 6.8SPC and 6.5 Grendel are still very quiet on the defense front, relatively speaking, what chance has 6.8x45 or 7.62x40? And the same applies to Dale's "Sharp's .25." If Remington didn't set the hunting world afire with it's .30 AR, what chance this new one he mentioned? The only thing going for these rounds is the sheer gazillions of Americans riding the AR bandwagon. |
