For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: (I've slipped this Model 700 thread from "Model 70p BDL" in RIFLES over to this thread in "Military Weapons"--Mark) I always felt justified in choosing the Remington M700 because both US Army and USMC chose that action as the basis for their M24 and M40 sniper systems for many years.
