Can you imagine the demand? And the prices they could command?
Just look at the prices any sniper rifle gets these days, as there are collectors who specialize in those "systems". About the only USGI sniper rifles I usually see are '03A4s, M1C/D. An occasional '03 with those Warner and Swasey scopes. The demand would be high and the prices commensurate. OTOH, it might be cheaper to fly to Afghanistan and pick up a couple of M24/M40 rifles at one of the local flea markets. And here we thought the M1911A1s that CMP released were expensive. Yep, $1000 and up for a pistol that may be rusty, pitted and loose as a goose. Harvey |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well hopefully, as the Army's M24s and Marines' M40s are phased out, CMP will get some and make them available to the civilian market.
