It's probably a good idea based on their reasoning.  However, in my opinion, nothing lasts forever, and when the supply of originals runs out, so be it.  And the price is absurd.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The CMP has partnered with Heritage Arms to produce new M1 rifles. These will be sold as commercial rifles rather than surplus rifles. Even though there is still a supply of surplus M1s, CMP feels the need to produce new ones. Is this a good idea? Here's the write up. Harvey
