The CMP has partnered with Heritage Arms to produce new M1 rifles. These will be sold as commercial rifles rather than surplus rifles. Even though there is still a supply of surplus M1s, CMP feels the need to produce new ones. Is this a good idea? Here's the write up. Harvey
