In this day where everyone from the NRA on down suggests that every person in the country each owns twenty-seven AR15s, semi-auto rifles were next with 10%--interestingly enough, tied by pump shotguns.  I guess everyone in the country also owns twenty-seven pump shotguns?  Someone needs to tell the NRA.   Actually pump shotguns were not that surprising to me.  Back when I was young and my gun collection was quite small, I added a pump shotgun.  That just seems like something everyone should have--home defense, hunter, competitor.  Military surplus handguns also tied this percentage.  It seems this forum just is a bit surplus oriented. 

The next in line were military surplus bolt action rifles.  That was one of my choices.  And guys, no one at all chose bolt action rifles, as in the commercial variety.  Oh, I suspect many of us own some--but they are not a large part of our collections.  Interesting?

Along with milsurp bolt guns was a vote for "some other type of firearm."  I like to put that kind of option in polls because I just can never think of everything.  I'd like to know what that choice represented here.
